Skills for Life is a new national programme available through every public library in Ireland. It offers free workshops, events, and resources to help adults build everyday skills, from going online and managing money to staying healthy and living more sustainably.
What is Skills for Life?
Skills for Life is a new nationwide programme delivered through Ireland’s public libraries, offering people across the country access to practical learning opportunities to support everyday life. Whether you want to feel more confident online, manage your finances, understand media, or live more sustainably – your local library is here to help.
The programme is available in all 30 local authority library services and focuses on six key themes:
- Basic Digital Skills
- Financial Literacy
- Media Literacy
- Business and Employment Skills
- Health Awareness
- Sustainable Lifestyles and Environmental Awareness
Get Involved
Each library service offers a mix of in-person events, online resources, book collections, and one-to-one support. Activities are free, inclusive, and practical — open to all adults in the community.
