New Online Resources

Library users should be aware that starting from 1 February 2020 there are two changes to the national Online Resources available to them with their library membership. We apologise for any inconvenience experienced during the transition to these new services.

All other services (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and eLearning Courses) will remain unchanged and should not experience any interruption as a result of the changes to the two services below.

Online Languages

From February 2020 Mango Languages will no longer be offered nationally to all public library members. Instead, members will have access to the Transparent Languages service. We are currently working with the supplier of Transparent Languages to set it up and ensure a smooth transition for members into using the new service. The links to the Online Languages service will be updated as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this transition.

We will update this page once the new service is live and fully functional.

Online Newspapers

From February 2020 the Proquest database will no longer be offered nationally to all public library members. Instead, library members will have access to the Press Reader digital newspaper service. We are currently working with the supplier of Press Reader to set it up and ensure a smooth transition for members into using the new service. The links to the Online Newspapers service will be updated as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this transition.

Several local authorities already offered Press Reader to their members separately from the national service, we do not anticipate any interruption for these users during the implementation of the national Press Reader service.

We will update this page once the new service is live and fully functional.
