Vision-net provides access to the original documents filed by both Irish and UK companies with the Companies Registration Office and the Companies House (UK) respectively. Examples of documents include:
- Audited Accounts
- Changes in Directors
- Allotment of Shares
The Registry of Business Names is also accessible through Vision-net. This service is provided free of charge with remote access available to members of the following library authorities.

Management & Business Studies Portal
This is a subject focused portal managed by the British Library. It comprises of the latest UK management research with practical business and management content for the British Library’s print and digital collections. The portal includes access to research reports, consulting reports, market research, think-pieces, and exclusive articles written by external experts.
Articles from The Irish Collection of the JSTOR database of journals in arts, humanities and science from 1700s to today are available online through the public libraries.

The DOAJ is an online directory that provides access to quality, peer-reviewed, open access (free) journals.
Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation
The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation’s mission is:
“To encourage the creation of high quality and sustainable full employment by championing enterprise across government, supporting a competitive enterprise base, promoting a low tax environment to incentivise work and enterprise, and promoting fair and competitive markets.”1 They maintain an online collection of their official publications relating to business including strategies, reports and evaluations. Examples of topics include ebusiness, enterprise, entrepreneurship, financial supports, wages, and employing people.
Public Services and Entitlements for Business
The Citizens Information Board provides information on public services and entitlements in Ireland, including a range of topics relevant for businesses.
Bord Bia offer a comprehensive range of services to small food businesses to help them grow their businesses at home and abroad. They provide detailed market and business development information and also operate an information enquiry service. A large collection of publications is available through their online resource centre, including Marketing Publications, Industry Commentaries, Corporate Publications and more.
The Irish Times
Public libraries provide online access free of charge to The Irish Times Archive within public libraries and schools in Ireland through the website www.askaboutireland.ie. Exact reproductions of all articles published since 1859 are available.
BorrowBooks.ie allows you to search across the Irish public libraries’ online catalogues to locate and request an item which is not held in your own library service. Business related titles are also available as ebooks through the libraries’ Borrow Box ebook collection.
