  • Book Title:   The Hunger Games

    Review From: Cork

This book is about a girl called Katniss Everdeen. She lives in a world called Panem. In the world there are 12 districts. They all have to fight in “The hunger games” which is live on television. A boy and a girl is picked from every district. It is actual fighting where you kill people. If you are the last person alive… you win. There are three books in the series. It is absolutely brilliant. It is my favourite book of all time!!

  • Book Title:   Ginger Snaps

    Book Author:   Cathy Cassidy

Age Group For This Book: 10 - 12

    Review From: Cork

Once Ginger Brown was bullied, she was the odd one out and had no friends. But on the first day of secondary school, cool, confident, careless Shannon came and sat beside her. That was the start of a friendship, and Ginger hasn’t looked back since…..until now.
Fast forward a year and it’s the first day of second year for the girls. They meet the quirky new boy Sam Taylor, who is interested in Ginger, but Shannon doesn’t like this and decides to label Sam as ‘weird’. Ginger knows in her heart that this is wrong, but she doesn’t want to lose Shannon or her ‘cool’ status. Many dramas unfold over the course of this amazing story, but can Ginger and Shannon make their friendship work, or will Ginger realise that Shannon isn’t all that she seems to be and begin to understand that sometimes the ‘wrong’ boy can turn out to be the ‘right’ boy after all????
I loved this book! It had an amazing storyline and I couldn’t put it down.I think Cathy is one of the greatest authors (if not THE greatest) of all time and I can’t reccommend this book highly enough!!

  • Book Title:   Adrian Mole

    Book Author:   Sue Townsend

Age Group For This Book: 10 - 12

    Review From: Clare

It is probably one of the best books I have ever read. His dad is absolutely hilarious. My favourite part is when his dad goes to the the bank to get money so he can buy fags but has hardly any money so he roars “It was all that stupid vets bill” because he had not fed the dog so it cost a fortune.

I really like it, especially the ending. Its a really great book if you are interested in Greek mythology. And even if you aren’t, it’s a great book, but I’d suggest that you read the other books in the series first because it’s the fifth one 😉

The book I read was facts about war and about 12 young people in time of the war. The one I liked was Jacks diary. He was on a boat to kill the germans and his boat got blown up and he was the only servive and he was called a hero for seviving on the boat because every on else one the boat died and he had a bad wound and his mam was coming but he died before she came and his last words was TELL MY MAM I LOVE HER. But the British won on the sea .Jacks Father and his other brother were fighting in France. It was really good book and I think other people should read it

  • Book Title:   The Incas

    Book Author:   Rosemary Rees

Age Group For This Book: 10 - 12

    Review From: Dublin

The Incas was a brilliant fact book about how the Incas lived in South America and about their lifestyle and how much stuff they did everyday. It also had pictures that showed what it might have looked like in Inca cities. I didn’t have anything bad to say about this book because it is a fact book with everything that you need to know about the Incas.

  • Book Title:   War Games

    Book Author:   Terry Deary

Age Group For This Book: 10 - 12

    Review From: Dublin

War games is a good book about two children, one boy and one girl, each on the opposite sides of the war between Germany and England. The setting was good because it added a bit of a twist to the story. It was a bit different to other books because they put two similar stories into one book. I gave it three stars because I felt that it could have a bit more detail and could have a bigger twist in both stories but overall it was a good book.
